Chippa United are interested in the permanent signing of Mamelodi Sundowns left-back Malebogo Modise, following his successful loan stint with the club last season, the Siya crew has been informed.
This potential move is part of Chippa's strategy to strengthen their squad after several player releases at the end of the previous season.

Sources close to the situation have indicated that negotiations are ongoing between Chippa United and the Brazilians.
"After releasing most of their players at the end of the last season they don't have a left back like Malebogo (Modise) and that's they are talking to Mamelodi Sundowns to sign him permanently. You know last season he was on loan and the technical team was happy with his services," said the Siya source.
"At first they wanted him to return on loan but now they want him on a full-time basis as their own player," the source added.
A second insider highlighted that Modise is also keen on securing consistent playing time, which is a challenge at Sundowns due to stiff competition in his position.
"There is Divine Lunga, Aubrey Modiba and Terrence Mashego in that position and he is down on the radar in the pecking order so that's why he also wants to gain game time somewhere and Chippa United are giving him that chance and he is willing to go as well. He enjoyed himself last season and he was part of the Bafana Bafana COSAFA tournament squad. So now it's all between the two clubs to agree on a deal for him to move to Chippa United," the second source observed.

Last season while on loan at Chippa, the 25-year-old defender was a consistent performer after joining the club in the January transfer window. His performance has evidently made a strong impression, prompting Chippa to now seek a permanent arrangement.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Chippa United's executive director, Lukhanyo Mzinzi, to comment on the latest developments.
"It's not on loan this time, but we will release a statement soon," Mzinzi told Soccer Laduma.
The Siya crew also contacted Sundowns for comment but the club had not responded when this report was prepared.
