The 8 Africans From LALIGA In Final AFCON Qualifiers

LALIGA boasts some of the best talents in world football, and many are from the African continent, so we've decided to highlight a few who will be representing their nations in the final round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Africa has been showing out in the Spanish top flight during the 2024/25 campaign, and no club illustrates this better than Villarreal.

During this past offseason, the Yellow Submarine recruited heavily from the mineral-rich continent, and now these players are shining.

The trio of Logan Costa, Pape Gueye and Nicolas Pepe were all brought in by Marcelino, and they've proven integral to the club's top-four start in the league standings.

Each of them has been regular starters for the Spanish tactician in LALIGA and will be looking to propel the Valencia-based side back into Europe's premier club competition, the UEFA Champions League, by this season's end.

With Gueye's Senegal and Pepe's Ivory Coast having already booked their places for the continental showpiece in Morocco, Costa will be hoping he can return to the Estadio de la Ceramica with Cape Verde having secured their ticket for Africa's biggest tournament as well.

Costa, Gueye and Pepe, however, were not the only African players who made the switch to the Iberian Peninsula during the previous transfer window, as Kelechi Iheanacho also made the move.

The 28-year-old traded in the East Midlands of Leicester City for the sunny skies of Seville after he completed a free transfer to Sevilla.

The Nigeria international started the season flanked by compatriot Chidera Ejuke on the left-hand side and a player who also has African ancestry from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Dodi Lukebakio, on the right wing, as they looked to form a potent attacking trident.

The 2013 Under-17 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner arrives at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan with a tremendous amount of experience, but during this international break, he will be hoping he leads his team to yet another AFCON final by taking the first step and completing qualification.
