Insiders added that the speedy winger has been training with Motsepe Foundation Championship side Durban City, formerly Maritzburg United. Sekhukhune have been looking at him and believe he could be ready for top flight football.
"The club is convinced he is the next big thing in South African football and that's why they want him to replace Elias Mokwana. It's believed that a Sekhukhune United contact stayed behind after their game against Royal AM and watched him on Sunday when his team Reunited were playing their SAB league match and he was very impressed with Sphe (Siphesihle Bhengu) after he assisted two goals for Reunited. The team representatives were very happy with the way he was out running and dribbling opponents and full backs," the Siya source stated.
A second insider stated that the club is working on bringing him in, in January, if all goes well.
"They didn't want to waste time and that's why they inquired from Reunited if they can have him in this coming transfer window though he has been training with Durban City as well. They are talking to his representatives to see what can happen as they are happy and convinced with what they have seen," the second Siya source stated.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sekhukhune United for comment, but there was no response at the time of preparing this story.

However, when reached for comment, Reunited chairman Curtis Dos Santos, confirmed the interest in Bhengu, though he could not mention the teams.
"That's very true. There is a lot of interest from top teams in Sphe (Bhengu) and I can tell you he is one for the future and whoever signs him will be gaining a top player who can score and create goals as well," Dos Santos told the Siya crew.
As Sekhukhune look to secure Bhengu, the young winger's potential to fill the gap left by Mokwana is promising. With interest from top teams and impressive performances, fans will be eager to see if Bhengu makes the leap to top flight football in the upcoming transfer window.
