It's believed that Brighton made an offer of about R50 million for Tau, making him the most expensive player in the history of South African football.
Due to work permit issues, Tau will be loaned out in the coming season, and is expected to ply his trade with Belgium second-tier side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in a season-long loan deal.
