What's the story?
The Bucs star has been one of the most talked-about players from Mayfair this season, with the striker starting the campaign in fine form. In three appearances this season, Mabasa managed to score two goals as fans expect him to go on and have a good season.
Bafana Call-Up
As a result of his form, Mabasa was recently called up to the provisional 34-man Bafana Bafana squad that will take on Ethiopia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier next month.
That said, Bucs take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership this coming weekend, with the tie historically known to be a spicy affair.
My Lukaku
Nonetheless, Mabasa's promising start to the season has now seen him get a new nickname by a fan, as seen in some of his latest Instagram stories.
Mabasa took to his IG account where he uploaded various images of a fan dubbing him 'My Lukaku'. Now named after Belgian star Romelu Lukaku, who is known to be one of his generation's most prolific goal scorers, Mabasa will no doubt hope to emulate the bustling striker's showing in front of goal this season.
