Stellies are on the cusp of making history, and should they avoid defeat against Congolese juggernauts AS Vita on Sunday afternoon, they will have successfully qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage at the first time of asking.
Thabo Moloisane and Lehlohonolo Mojela were on hand to find the back of the net for Steve Barker's charges as they look to become the second successive side from South Africa to prevent Vita from reaching the competition's group stage after Marumo Gallants beat them 3-2 on aggregate in the same round in the 2021/22 campaign.
While the Western Cape-based side achieved victory last weekend, it was not them who made the headlines, but rather their opponents, the Black Dolphins.
Vita is said to have arrived in South Africa at 04:00 on matchday due to visa issues, and seemingly led to Abdeslam Ouaddou's side being lethargic in the first half of the crunch match, with both of Stellenbosch's goals coming in the first 15 minutes of the tie.
It is understood that the Moroccan tactician was also pelted with objects from Vita supporters during the match, and all these factors combined led to the 45-year-old resigning from his role during a post-match press conference.
Now, according to Le360 Sport, Ouaddou is demanding that the Kinshasa team pay him the outstanding money owed on his contract.

It has not been disclosed how much is owed to the north African head coach, but the same report claims that he is willing to take the Congolese club to world football's governing body if he does not receive his money in full.
