The record Moroccan champions have been quite active in the market this off-season.

The Red Castle have already welcomed as many as eight new stars to the team since appointing Mokwena as their latest head coach, and it seems that they are not done yet.

Since arriving in Casablanca, the South African tactician is believed to have been assessing the current players at his disposal, but there is one particular area he believes the club may need to go outside of Morocco for, and that is the central striker role.

According to Al-Akhbar, as per Le360 Sport, the Johannesburg native remains unconvinced by the players currently plying their trade in the Botola Pro Inwi and stressed the need to recruit a forward from outside of the north African nation.

The same report states that the Wydad board has availed a significant sum of money in order to sign a high-level foreign striker and get Wydad competing at the highest level once again.

The three-time African champions have been linked with Italian striker Mario Balotelli in recent weeks, but after talks failed to progress due to finances, it seems the Moroccan giants will have to look elsewhere for their marquee marksman.

Striker is not the only position Mokwena is rumoured to keen on reinforcing, with it is reported that the 37-year-old also wants a new defensive midfielder after the departure of Yahya Jabrane, a left-winger and a fullback who can play on either side of the defence.
