Zinnbauer Reacts To Overtaking Chiefs-Linked Nabi In Title Race

Josef Zinnbauer has reacted to Raja Club Athletic leapfrogging Nasreddine Nabi and his FAR Rabat side at the top of the Botola Pro standings.

Josef Zinnbauer gave his thoughts on moving one step closer to a historic invincible campaign in Morocco after a 1-0 win over Wydad Athletic Club saw his side to leapfrog Nasreddine Nabi's FAR Rabat at the top of the Botola Pro.

A stoppage-time free-kick from Morocco international Adam Ennaffati earned Raja Club Athletic a precious victory on Sunday, which moved them to the top of the Moroccan top-flight standing, one point ahead of reigning the Botola Pro champions.

The Green Eagles have not been top of the log since the beginning of league's second matchday, but after Nabi's charges drew 2-2 with Moghreb Tetouan this past weekend, it paved the way for Zinnbauer's men to return to the summit on the penultimate matchday of the season.

Speaking after the victory over the Red Castle, the former Orlando Pirates head coach reiterated that while it feels good to be top of the table again, the job is not finished yet.

"We achieved a good result. We played a good first half, but we were unable to score goals, and it was difficult for the players in terms of the final touch. We talked about all of this at half-time, and I asked them to maintain their focus and wait for the right time," he said, as per Le Site Info Sports.

"We knew that this match would be our last chance, and it was a good experience for me and it is good for us to remain calm and not celebrate now, because we do not know what can happen in football."

"A difficult match awaits us in Oujda, and they also need points, perhaps more than us, but the players must understand that if they want to achieve the title, they must win in the last match."
