Al Ahly Boss Finds Himself In 'Mosimane Situation' With Striker

There is tension reportedly building up between Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller and his star striker Kahraba.

Marcel Koller is now reportedly dealing with a similar situation Pitso Mosimane went through at Al Ahly regarding the team's star striker, which could see the attacker leave the club.

The Red Devils will return to league action on Tuesday evening when they face off against Baladiyat El Mahalla SC in the Egyptian Premier League.

For the second straight encounter, however, it is said that they will be without the services of star forward Kahraba.

The 29-year-old was left out of the matchday squad for Ahly's recent CAF Champions League match against Medeama, with club technical director Khaled Bebo citing "technical reasons" as the reason for his omission.

However, according to Kooora, there seems to be tensions simmering between the Egypt international and his head coach.

The Egyptian publication has likened the situation between the Swiss native and the striker to what Mosimane went through with the former Zamalek forward.

The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns tactician gave the forward chances to play at Ahly until a dispute broke out between them, which led to the Cairo native ultimately leaving the club on loan, joining Hatayspor in Turkey.

As far as his time in African football is concerned, no manager has given Kahraba more playing time than Koller, but it now appears that his relationship may be headed in a similar direction to that when Mosimane was in charge of the Club of the Century.

The same report claims that Koller also has the clout to get rid of the striker should he wish, with players such as Wessam Abou-Ali and Anthony Modeste have now usurped him in the attacking pecking order.
