Billiat Aims For Overseas Switch Via Zimbabwe?

Billiat Aims For Overseas Switch Via Zimbabwe?

Khama Billiat's potential move to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League could be another plan of the former Kaizer Chiefs star to get closer to sealing an overseas move, the Siya crew has been reliably told.

Yesterday, Billiat finally arrived in Zimbabwe where he has been expected since last week and was welcomed at the airport by representatives from Yadah Stars FC.

In the past week or so, the former Zimbabwean international has been linked with Dynamos, Manica Diamonds and Ngezi Platinum Stars, among other clubs back home.

When he parted ways with Chiefs at the end of last season, Billiat had been linked with a move to an unnamed team in Saudi Arabia, among other clubs.

The 33-year-old had previously been touted for a switch to Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia during his former coach Pitso Mosimane's tenure with the club.

After almost eight months with no contract, the ex-PSL Footballer of the Season looks set to sign in Zimbabwe to revive his career, with sources indicating that it could be another way of advertising him for overseas.

"The boss of Yadah (Walter Magaya) is a pastor, and he might be trying to help Dynamos in some form of a deal. Dynamos is not in a position to afford Khama Billiat's package and there might be some form of agreement that he will be signed by Yadah and then be loaned to Dynamos for their CAF (Confederation Cup) campaign from what I understand," said the source.

"Khama is a player that has been keen on a move to Saudi Arabia or one of the other leagues that offer big salaries. So, this could be part of the plan for him to sign for Yadah, play for Dynamos in CAF on loan and then get sold overseas. But whether that will happen or not is a story for another day," concluded the source.
