What's the story?

Tanzania's very own 'Shabba' finally go the opportunity to met his role model and the legend he was nicknamed after, Siphiwe Tshabalala. 

Mohammed Hussein was bestowed with the Tshabalala name after scoring a similar goal to Shabba's most iconic strike at 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Shabba meets Tanzania's Tshabalala

There's been plenty of feel good stories at this year's Africa Cup of Nations and the latest one sees Shabba make this tournament an even more memorable one for a Tanzanian star.

Simba SC defender Mohammed Hussein has been popularly known as Tshabalala in Tanzania because he once scored a similar goal to Shabba's 2010 FIFA World Cup opener against Mexico.

Hussein has embraced the name over the years and has used the Tshabalala name at the back of his Simba jersey, commentators also call him that during matches.

"Finally today I have met my role model, the person who made me love football more... Left footer magician, the first player to score a goal [at the] World Cup 2010 in South Africa," wrote a caption to Hussein's IG post of him next to Shabba, translated from Swahili.

The Siya Crew revealed recently that Kaizer Chiefs could be looking at bringing the 2016/17 Tanzanian Player of the Season.

Sources closes to the club indicated that Amakhosi may want to complete a deal for Hussein after AFCON, with the 27-year-old seen as potential replacement for veteran left back Sifiso Hlanti.

Hussein's Taifa Stars will hope for all three points when they take on second-place DR Congo on Wednesday evening, as they will have to fight for a ticket into the round of 16 at this enthralling AFCON showpiece.
