The 25-year-old's contract at the Parc des Princes is set to expire at the end of the season, and The Athletic has reported that the Bondy native has communicated to the club's hierarchy that he will not be extending his deal at the club.
Now, the same publication has revealed that the French giants already know who they want to replace the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner with, and his name is Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian is coming off an Africa Cup of Nations campaign where he made the final, after being crowned the CAF Men's Player of the Year at the end of 2023.
Osimhen recently signed a contract extension at current club Napoli, but with a €120 million (R2.4 billion) release clause believed to have been included in it, it should not be much of an issue for the French club to pull the trigger on a potential transfer.
Current PSG sporting director Luis Campos recruited the Lagos native from Charleroi for Lille in 2019, so the Portuguese chief is aware of the type of player he would be buying, and with Osimhen having already proved himself in Ligue 1, his adaptation would likely be seamless.

However, in recent interviews, the west African has expressed his admiration for the Premier League and a dream move to England. PSG will likely be able to offer him more than any side in the English top division, so his head could yet be turned, but it remains to be seen where will be playing his football next season.
