The Portuguese tactician recently sat down with Rio Ferdinand on the ex-England international's podcast for his first interview since being relieved of his duties by Italian giants Roma.
During the episode, Ferdinand and Mourinho covered a wide variety of topics related to the legendary manager's career, such as working with Cristiano Ronaldo and his time at the Red Devils between 2016 and 2018.
The 61-year-old also touched on the special relationship he had with a host of African players, particularly at Stamford Bridge, joking that he is still loved on the African continent today because of the bond he formed with stars such as Didier Drogba and Michael Essien.
"I can't go to Africa. Too much everywhere!" he said on FIVE.
"I had Drogba, [Njitap] Geremi, [Salomon] Kalou, [John] Obi Mikel, [Michael] Essien. Every time I go to Africa, I can't walk. The guys, they love me!
"Even in Europe, with many African guys, people really loves me.
"To be honest I love the guys and I feel that the African player is very loyal and very pure."
