A DStv Premiership coach has weighed in on the title race as Mamelodi Sundowns are tipped as favourites to win it again this season.
Following his return to SuperSport United after nine years, Gavin Hunt has led the Tshwane giants to an impressive DStv Premiership campaign, with the team in second place on the standings going into their next fixture against Sundowns on January 16.

With his pedigree of having previously won the league with the Spartans on three consecutive occasions from the 2007/08 to 2009/10 seasons, many have dubbed Hunt as the coach who can finally end Downs' dominance.
In total, the 58-year-old coach has won the title four times, with his latest achievement being with Bidvest Wits in the 2016/17 season.
So far this season, the Cape Town-born mentor has led the Spartans to eight wins and three draws from their 15 matches and are 10 points behind the Brazilians going into the second half of the season.
However, Hunt has played down the talks about SuperSport being the title contenders this season.
"I tell the players straight every day that 'You are not god enough to win the league.' They laugh at me, and they prove me wrong every day. I know what wins the league and I know what doesn't win the league. When I came here the first time, when I walked through the door, I said we will win the league. They said I was joking, and I said we will win the league, this team is a great team," said Hunt, speaking to journalists recently.

"I know many players here; we need one or two and we will be competitive and that's the most important thing. Let's get to 30 points, get to 40 and let's see where we go," the coach said.
Meanwhile, Hunt will be watching with interest as Downs will be playing Chippa United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium this evening as part of his planning for their fixture scheduled for next Monday.
