SuperSport United have punched above their weight particularly when they were winning PSL titles and lifting Cups. Gavin Hunt discusses factors that contribute to the rise and fall of South African clubs.
The legendary DStv Premiership coach had a large part to play in SuperSport's glory days, particularly with the three league titles in a row from 2008 to 2010.

Hunt discusses a sticky point in terms of how some coaches are treated by clubs with regard to transfers, such as the signing of players without the input of the coach.
"That will never happen and rightly so. And I won't mention coaches' names but they will come to training and a player would come on the training ground and they will say 'this is your new striker'. They have signed him," Hunt told This is Football Africa podcast on YouTube.
The former Kaizer Chiefs coach then underlines why this is unacceptable to him.
"No, that will never happen with me. It can't work, the manager or the coach needs to have the final say, the contract situation I also think the coaches should be involved in that a bit but sadly that doesn't happen in South Africa," he added.
After a successful first spell, Hunt returned to SuperSport at the start of last season and discussed why he had left the club for Bidvest Wits in the past.
"Stan (Matthews, CEO) knows the reason why I left SuperSport in the first place is because you killed me, you cut my knees off, you cut my legs off me. I said to Stan, we'll win the league here for six, seven years in a row.
"The team was young and vibrant then all of a sudden they go (the players), Denis Onyango, (Elias) Pelembe, Daine Klate, (Katlego) Mashego, (Teko) Modise, (Katlego) Mphela, Bongani Khumalo, Morgan Gould," he said.
When Hunt got his big opportunity to coach a club with a bigger budget, he was unfortunate that he could not sign players at Kaizer Chiefs due to a transfer ban and then he had to part ways with Amakhosi before the end of his first campaign.
