It has been almost two years since Happy Jele parted ways with Orlando Pirates, and the veteran defender might have to consider going back 'home', the Siya crew has learnt.
In announcing the player's departure in 2022 after 16 years with the club, the Buccaneers confirmed that the Middelburg-born star had various job options in a non-playing capacity at the club discussed with him in a meeting with the chairman.

The versatile defender opted to continue playing and was given the club's blessings to move on with his career.
In February last year, the 37-year-old joined Royal AM and was with the KwaZulu-Natal club until the end of the season.
At the end of his contract in June, the experienced player had his contract not renewed, having featured in just four matches for Thwihli Thwahla.
Magents, as Jele is fondly known, has been training on his own and at times featuring in some legends' matches.

When he decides to retire one day, Jele would be open to returning to Bucs where he is a club legend to see if there are any job options available for him, according to a source.
"Happy is a Pirates legend and he made so much history with the club. He was appreciated by everyone at the club for what he achieved over the years. Pirates is like a home to him and the door will always be open," said the source.
