It's the start of a new adventure for former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker, George Lebese, as he hopped on a plane to a different continent this week…
Lebese, who has signed for Colorado Springs Switchbacks in the United States of America, had been waiting to depart for the States to start preseason training with Alan Koch and his new teammates, but up until now he hadn't received his work permit.
Now though, having sorted out all his paperwork, the 30-year-old has left South Africa to start afresh in the northern hemisphere, and will arrive in Colorado today before getting to work next week.
The Switchbacks' head coach, Koch, has spoken of how excited he is to get the former Glamour Boy in as part of his side for the 2020 United Soccer League season, and he will soon get the chance to see him alongside the club's other new signings as their preseason camp continues.
Lebese will no doubt be hoping to hit the ground running next week when he starts training at his new club, and he could get his debut early next month when his side take on New Mexico United in a friendly in Albuquerque.
