Veteran Orlando Pirates defender and captain of the side, Happy Jele, has commented on his future with the Soweto giants.

Jele, 33, whose one-year contract extension offered by the club last year finished in June, and has remained at the club on an extended deal for the remainder of the season.

The Middelburg-born player, who has been with the Buccaneers since 2006, is expected to lead Josef Zinnbauer's team again today, as they host Baroka FC at the Emirates Airline Park this evening.
Although he wouldn't go into details about his contract situation, the centre-back has revealed that his wish is to retire at the Soweto giants – the only club he has only ever played for in his professional career.
"So far I have been happy, you know, the team has been good to me (and) I don't have a problem with them. I wish one day, if it's possible to finish my career here – to retire in the team," said Jele, and speaking to journalists through a virtual media briefing this week.

"But it's up to the team to decide. For me, I just have to work, that's the most important thing. I came here to work and deliver for the team, that's what I'm going to do for the team. In terms of contracts and everything, I think you need to speak to the chairman. I think he is the right person to speak to," he said.
