CAF Champions League

Teams: Orlando Pirates v African Stars

Date: 15 December 2018

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Orlando Pirates begin their quest for a spot in the CAF Champions League group stage when they host African Stars in the first-leg of their second round match on Saturday evening at Orlando Stadium.   The match will get underway at 18h00.   Bucs cruised past Light Stars of Seychelles 8-2 on aggregate in the preliminary round and will now be looking to build momentum and book a place in the group stages of the tournament.   Milutin Sredojevic's charges bounced back from the Telkom Knockout final disappointment with a 3-1 victory over Free State Stars on Tuesday in the league and will be looking to score a lot of goals ahead of the second leg next week.   The Samba Boys, meanwhile got to the second phase of the preliminary round after beating Volcan Club of Comoros 2-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round.   The Windhoek outfit have a new coach in Bobby Samaria who just replaced Robert Nauseb who parted ways with the club after suffering a 5-1 defeat to local rivals Black Africa last weekend.   This will be the first official meeting between the two sides but they have played against each other before once in an unofficial match in pre-season on August 2016 in the Dr Hage Geingob Cup third-place play-off at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek. Bucs lost that game 8-7 on penalties after a goalless draw in regulation time.   Here's how they line up:

Pirates: Mabokgwane, Jele, Munetsi, Mobara, Maela, Mako, Makola, Mntambo, Maphangule, Pule, Shonga.

Subs: Mpontshane, Mbekile, Nyatama, Mlambo, Qalinge, Lorch, Mulenga.
