Absa Premiership

Teams: Maritzburg United v SuperSport United

Date: 04 May 2019

Venue: Harry Gwala Stadium

Maritzburg United will be fighting for survival when they host SuperSport United in their penultimate Absa Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon at Harry Gwala Stadium.   View The PSL Table   The Team of Choice are scrambling to save their top flight status in the final stages of the league and they boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 victory over Black Leopards last Saturday.   Eric Tinkler's troops have a fighting chance to avoid being relegated but they can't afford to drop points at the bottom of the table with 23 points from 28 matches.   On the other hand, Matsatsantsa blew their slim chances of challenging for the league title almost two weeks ago when they lost 2-0 to AmaZulu and they don't have a lot to play for anymore as they have already secured a top eight spot.   SuperSport are placed sixth on the table with 44 points from 28 matches. They are four points behind Wits who currently occupy the CAF Confederation Cup spot in third place.   In the first round league meeting between the sides, Matsatsantsa beat the Team of Choice 1-0 in December last year at Mbombela Stadium.   View The PSL Results
