Kaizer Chiefs' investment on an expensively assembled technical team has started to pay off after they they scored higher marks than Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates in a team fitness test.
Even though Chiefs are not competing for the league title, they had an unofficial physical conditioning test with Sundowns and Pirates, who all had three fixtures in one week.
In fact, Amakhosi and the Brazilians had to play three games in six days while the Buccaneers had three matches in seven days.
The Tshwane giants appeared to be having incredible depth after they thrashed SuperSport United 3-0 and walloped Pirates 4-1. However, Masandawana head coach Miguel Cardoso admitted following their 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy that their third game in six days took it's toll on the players and that they were too tired in a defeat to the Rockets.

After beating Chiefs 1-0 in the Soweto Derby, the Buccaneers already looked lethargic in a 2-1 win over Sekhukhune United and were completely flat after a 4-1 humiliation by Sundowns.
The Glamour Boys, on the other hand, after a narrow defeat to Pirates, appeared to still be having the legs to rescue a 2-2 draw against AmaZulu and were even in good condition in a 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch, their third game in six days, against one of the fittest teams in the league.
Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi could not hold back compliments for strength and conditioning coach Safi Majdi, after their win over the Maroons.
"Honestly its a very good performance, thank you to all the players and in particular my conditioning coach Mr (Safi) Majdi you know this is game number three in seven (six) days and you look at the physical conditioning of my players, it's incredible," Nabi said after the game on SuperSport TV.

"Majdi is a high level conditioning coach, congratulations to him and all the players.
"Chiefs have been struggling with long-term injuries of players in the last few seasons, which was one of the reasons they finished their campaigns on low note."
In various stages last season, Chiefs had Ashley Du Preez, Sifiso Hlanti, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Keagan Dolly, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, George Matlou and Tebogo Potsane, all out with long-term injuries.
However, Majdi recovered them all ahead of and during the 2024/25 campaign following his arrival.
Currently, Amakhosi only have Edson Castillo as a long-term injury casualty (who is nearing a return) after Majdi also worked wonders on Bongani Sam, which speaks volumes of the Tunisian physical trainer's improvement of the team's physical conditioning.
Majdi has previously worked at Tunisia national team, Raja Casablanca and Etoile du Sahel.
