Kaizer Chiefs are satisfied with their current defensive setup, according to insiders close to the club and privy to information.
Amakhosi had made many changes in their defence at the beginning of the season, but struggled to keep clean sheets under new coach Nasreddine Nabi when taking into account their goals conceded statistics.

Despite that, Siya sources have indicated that there are no immediate plans to strengthen the defence further.
The insiders stated that both the technical team and management are content with the current roster of defenders, allowing them to focus on bolstering the attacking areas instead.
"I think the main plan for now is the forward areas like the strikers and the wingers. Not defence. The defence was dealt with in the previous transfer window period and the coach is happy with that. They signed five players in the defensive areas starting with the goalkeeper and the defenders. That was good. So now the plan is to look at the attack. And to tell you the truth, the coach is happy with that. They can't sign any more defenders at the moment," the Siya source stated.
A second insider mentioned that the team is working on the fitness of left-back Bongani Sam, who was injured during pre-season in Turkey. He returned to action around September 2024 but hasn't been fit enough to play full matches.

"For now it's just a matter of time before (Bongani Sam) can play. Yes, the injury was a setback but you remember he played in the Legends Cup and that's when they saw that he needed more time to fully recover but he is a player that the technical team believes in and soon he will contribute to the team. So, as with defence, the coach is happy and had no plans for now," the second source observed.
At the start of the season, Chiefs reinforced their squad with goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari and defenders Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, and Bongani Sam.
Soccer Laduma reached out to Chiefs for comment, but there was no response at the time of publication.
