Kaizer Chiefs host their biggest rivals Orlando Pirates in the most anticipated first Soweto Derby of the season on Saturday at FNB Stadium.
With both teams not at their best so far this season and with Amakhosi conceding soft goals, former defender Derrick Spencer looks at the central defensive pairing.

Spencer talks to Soccer Laduma about Amakhosi's two new signings, Given Msimango and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and how they have fit in so far.
"You know for now it's difficult to say which is the best defensive combination that we have. Most of these players have not played for Chiefs before and they are still adjusting to that," Spencer told the Siya crew.
"But Given (Msimango) and Thatayaone (Ditlhokwe) were doing very well from the start of the season though we were conceding some stupid goals.
"So, I think if the coach can play those two in the Soweto Derby it would really be good. But you know the final decision lies with the coach.
"And as for the game both teams are not doing well and it can go either way. Form doesn't matter as it's is the biggest game on the calendar.
"If you look at the game against Golden Arrows, Chiefs played very well but they lost. So the derby will be a different ball game all together. As for the defensive combination again, whichever the coach uses will do the job for Chiefs on the day," Spencer concluded to Soccer Laduma.
