Orlando Pirates Player Ratings v URA

Soccer Laduma player rates the individual performances of the Orlando Pirates players, following their 2-1 win over URA. Here are the ratings: Brighton Mhlongo: 6 Was hardly tested throughout the 90 minutes and could do nothing about URA's goal. Happy Jele: 5 Was solid for large parts but hardly got forward and ended up scoring an own goal in the dying minutes. Rooi Mahamutsa: 7 Started the game with a bang by scoring a sublime goal and was solid throughout the 90 minutes. Siyabonga Sangweni: 6 Put in a solid showing throughout and hardly put a foot wrong, while he also frustrated the URA attackers. Thabo Matlaba: 6 Not the usual game, which most expect to see from Matlaba, he did well defensively but hardly added to the Pirates attack. Mpho Makola: 6 It was a quiet game for Makola, hardly impacted the side going forward and was eventually substituted in the second half through injury. Lehlohonolo Masalesa: 6 Given a rare start by Eric Tinkler and managed to hold his in the holding midfield role. Oupa Manyisa: 7 The Orlando Pirates skipper was lively when in possession of the ball and picked up two assists, by teeing up Mahamutsa and Majoro. Sifiso Myeni: 6 Not the best of showings from Myeni and only showed glimpses of what he can do. Kermit Erasmus: 6 Another frustrating outing for Erasmus, his efforts at goal failed to trouble the URA goalkeeper and his movement was not the best. Lennox Bacela: 6 Much like Erasmus, hardly had any services to feed on and was eventually substituted midway through the second half. Substitutes: Thandani Ntshumayelo: 6 Replaced Bacela midway through the first half, as Tinkler was looking to bulk up the midfield and was effective in helping Pirates hold on for the win. Thabo Rakhale: 6 Rakhale was just what Pirates needed, as the tempo of their play had slowed down, although he did have a couple poor efforts at goal. Lehlohonolo Majoro: 7 Proved to be an inspired substitution for Pirates, as Majoro's sublime effort proved to the match winner.
