CAF Confederation Cup Match Report: Orlando Pirates 2-1 URA 14 March 2015

CAF Confederation Cup Match Report: Orlando Pirates 2-1 URA 14 March 2015
CAF Confederation Cup   Result: Orlando Pirates 2-1 URA   Date: 14 March 2015   Venue: Orlando Stadium   Sublime goals from Rooi Mahamutsa and Lehlohonolo Majoro handed Orlando Pirates a 2-1 win over URA in the CAF Confederation Cup first round, first leg tie at the Orlando Stadium.   Pirates got off to the perfect start, as Mahamutsa collected a pass from Oupa Manyisa before rifling the ball into the top corner from 25-yards out.   The home side were firmly in control in the opening exchanges, although they struggled to create any clear cut chances for Kermit Erasmus and Lennox Bacela up front.   The Ugandan side sprung into life after the 20-minute mark, as the likes of Kalanda, Feni Ali and Munaba linked up well on a few occasions.   The visitors certainly ended the first half the stronger of the two sides, although they failed to test Pirates shot-stopper, Brighton Mhlongo.   URA's best effort arrived midway through the first half, as Kalanda exchanged passes with Ali, before firing firing a low effort straight Mhlongo.   URA continued their dominance in the second half and looked lively but were restricted to long range efforts.   Eric Tinkler introduced Thabo Rakhale and Lehlohonolo Majoro in the hope of bagging another goal.   And it was Majoro, who sealed the win for Pirates, as the striker combined well with Oupa Manyisa, before placing one into the top corner from 25-yards out.   However, URA managed to pull one back with the final kick of  the game, as Happy Jele turned the ball into his own net.   Here's how they lined up:   Orlando Pirates: Mhlongo, Jele, Mahamutsa, Sangweni, Matlaba, Makola, Masalesa, Manyisa, Myeni, Erasmus, Bacela   URA: Bwete, Massa, Sekitto, Senkoomi, Othieno, Agaba, Yassar, Kyeyone, Feni Ali, Kalanda, Munaba
