Bafana Bafana Finish 2018 In 72nd Place
The final FIFA Rankings list for 2018 was released today, with Bafana Bafana unmoved as we go into a new year that will feature an African Cup of Nations.   Read: Date Set For Molangoane's Chiefs Return   Stuart Baxter's side have been slowly edging up the rankings since June, and are now six places higher (72nd) than they were at the start of the year (78th), however are some way off the 60th place that they achieved at one point in 2017.   With an AFCON qualifier against Libya on the horizon, as well as potentially the tournament itself, there could be plenty of opportunity for Bafana to improve their placing in 2019 as they aim to try and break into the world's top 50 for the first time since 2010.   There wasn't much movement overall in the rankings, with Africa's top 16 remaining exactly where they are – Bafana are 14th continentally – with Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco making up the top three.   Meanwhile, Guyana had the best month as they moved up three places to 177th, with Barbados coming off the worst as they fell from 159th to 162nd.    Read more about the top 10 in the final FIFA rankings in 2018 here!
