The statistic professionals at SciSports, using a novel metric to calculate how effective certain players are when passing, recently analysed every player in Europe's big five leagues.
Using the information they found, they compiled a list of the 15 best passers of the 2016/17 campaign, although we have narrowed the list down to the top 10.
Bayern Munich's James Rodriguez came in at 10th place, with Sevilla's Ever Banega, who played for Inter Milan last season, is in ninth position.
Lionel Messi follows in eighth spot, while his former FC Barcelona colleague Neymar is in seventh place.
Arsenal's Santi Cazorla is sixth on the list, followed by Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, respectively.
Mesut Ozil is said to be the third best passer of a football across Europe's top five leagues in 2016/17, with Bayern's Franck Ribery is one spot ahead of him.
