Pogba is reportedly a transfer target of Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid, but here are five things you may or may not have know about the 21-year-old.
1) Pogba is the son of Guinean and Congolese parents, and he has two older siblings named Mathias and Florentin. The other Pogba brothers are twins and they too have soccer careers, although not as successful as Paul's. Mathius Pogba plays for Crewe Alexandra as a forward. His twin brother, Florentin, plays for Saint-Etienne.
2) When Manchester United lured him from Le Havre to England, the French side accused the English giants of 'stealing' the young talent. Le Havre president, Jean-Pierre Louvel, claimed United paid the 16-year-old Pogba £87 000 and bought him a house. FIFA subsequently investigated the case, but United were cleared of any wrongdoing.
3) Pogba played for Manchester United from 2009 until 2012, when he left abruptly on a free transfer after not signing a new contract. Ferguson, was livid and publicly blasted Pogba, claiming he was disrespectful. However, Pogba came back with the same claim about Ferguson, saying that he would not allow Pogba to play and was rude to him when he decided to leave.
4) The most common nickname Paul Pogba hears from fans is 'Il Polpo Paul' which translates to 'Paul the Octopus,' because of his long legs. He is 6'2 feet tall, and most of his height is in his legs, which remind fans of an octopus' tentacles.
5) In 2013, Pogba received the Golden Boy award for the best U-21 player in Europe. He has represented France at all levels for which he was eligible and captained his nation to victory at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2013 - where he took home the Player of the Tournament award. In Brazil, he was awarded the Best Young Player at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
