Spain will play Israel in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday, and also take on France in an international friendly next week.
Many experienced names were omitted from the squad, included Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who has been capped 110 times for La Furia Roja's senior side.
Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata was also left out, along with Arsenal starlet Hector Bellerin and Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz.
