The 36-year-old last played for Fluminense in Brazil, but has been without a permanent club since mutually terminating his contract with the Brazilian Serie A side.
Reports last week suggested that he was offered a route back to top-level football by Coritiba, who reportedly initiated talks over an €88 000 (R1.3 million) salary with the 2002 FIFA World Cup winner.
However, other news outlets have claimed that Ronaldinho's brother and agent, Roberto de Assis, visited Barcelona to negotiate an official ambassadorial role, which would include his participation in the Catalans' legends side and ultimately mean his retirement from the game.
"I don't know what I'm going to do," Ronaldinho told ESPN when asked about his future plans.
"I don't know if I'm going to play one more year, six months, if I'm going to pay at all or if I'm going to stop.
"I'll know in a little while."
