The Italian tactician, who has guided the Blues to a club-record 11 successive Premier League wins, is interested in signing James Rodriguez, according to Marca.
It is suggested that Conte wants to pounce on the unhappiness of the Colombian, who has struggled for game time at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.
Rodriguez recently hinted he could leave Real in the January transfer window, saying he has several offers and is considering his options.
"I can't assure I will stay at Real Madrid. I have offers and seven days left to think about my future," he said after the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
"I am happy in Madrid, but I want to play more. I have a bitter feeling as I wanted to play the final, but I am happy for the title. It's the 15th title in my career."
However, Real reportedly do not want to sell the attacking midfielder – who has scored 27 goals and assisted another 37 strikes in 94 appearances for the club – at least not in January, anyway.

Chelsea would apparently be prepared to spend big on the 25-year-old, possibly reinvesting the money they will receive for midfielder Oscar's imminent transfer to a club in China, but Los Blancos will apparently attempt to recoup the massive €75 million (R1.1 billion) transfer fee they paid for the playmaker.
