A list of the 100 highest valued football stars was recently published, and while Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped out of the top 10, there are six Africans among the top 100.

Swiss-based football statistics institute International Centre for Sports Studies' (CIES) recently published their annual list of football's top 100 players with the highest transfer values.
They calculated a player's worth based on certain key indicators, including age and contract length.
Neymar is currently the highest valued player with an estimated worth of €210.7 million (R3.03 billion), ahead of Tottenham Hotspur duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
While Messi, valued at €151.7 million (R2.18 billion), has dropped to fourth place after being first last year, Ronaldo has fallen out of the top 10 and now sits in 11th position with a worth of €137.8 million (R1.98 billion).
Africa's highest valued player is Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose worth has been calculated to be €81.5 million (R1.17 billion).
Overall, though, he only sits in 26th place in the ranking. The next African is Liverpool target Mohamed Salah. AS Roma's Egyptian star is worth €67.5 million (R957 million), according to CIES, and he sits in 40th spot.
Reds winger Sadio Mane is the next African on the list, and appears in 47th place with a worth of €64.5 million (R914 million).
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama (€55 million, R780 million) is 66th, seven spots above 2016 African Player of the Year Riyad Mahrez (€51.8 million, R734 million).

RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita can look back at a stellar first Bundesliga season, during which he saw his value skyrocket to €47.5 million (R673 million). He appears in 82nd position.
