African superstar Yaya Toure has revealed which two clubs he wanted Manchester City to model themselves on.
Neymar Beats Ronaldinho's Barca Record
The Ivorian, who was recently recalled to the first team by Pep Guardiola after initially being dropped this season, has admitted that he joined the Citizens with the hope of helping the club grow to the level of Manchester United and his former team FC Barcelona.
"My time here has been great," he told the club's official website.
"My mentality has always been the same. I always enjoy it.
"The plan of this club in the beginning was to try to get players to win, to change the club into a winning machine like Manchester United or Barcelona.
"That's what made me decide to come here, because what the club was trying to do was bring in big players – winning players."
Toure has played 285 matches for City since his arrival in 2010, and has won six trophies during his time at the Etihad so far.
