Cristiano Ronaldo's son, Cristiano Jr, has found himself all over the media in this past week, but are people forgetting that he is just a child? Leave the kid alone!
This all started on Tuesday, when a video of a deleted scene from Ronaldo's movie did the rounds, in which Cristiano Jr calls himself "Cristiano Santos".
The story was jumped on in seconds, and the kid was slated left, right and centre for not being able to say his own name, when, in fact, his father's full name is Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro. So forgive the child for being a little nervous on camera…
Then, on Wednesday, the night after Ronaldo won his fourth Golden Shoe award, another video of the Portuguese star's son surfaced, and in it he appears to flash the middle finger during the ceremony.
Again, Cristiano Jr is just a young boy, and his actions shouldn't be blown up as much as they have been. In my opinion, laws should be put in place to prevent tabloids and certain press teams from putting these stories on the internet, but, of course, something like this would be difficult for the authorities to monitor.
The latest "incident" involving Cristiano Jr was on the same night of the awards evening, when he asked his grandmother how many accolades Messi has won – a normal question for anybody to ask.
However, it was once again blown out of proportion! Of course he will know who Messi is, and of course he'll ask questions. It's a part of growing up.
Others suggest that Ronaldo should protect his son from the public eye, but what father would leave his child at home when he is set to win a major prize at an awards evening?
Cristiano Jr should be left alone by the European press – it's ridiculously unfair to publicly slate a five-year-old.
Do you think it's unfair for Cristiano Jr to be making so many headlines when he is just a child?
