The story

Masandawana utility player, Rivaldo Coetzee shed light on the difficulties of dealing with a tight schedule, especially for a team like Downs that challenges for every trophy available.

Coetzee, who has only managed eight appearances in all competitions for the Brazilians this season, spoke on how heavy it is on the players to deal with the sheer volume of matches.

In February alone, Downs played seven matches (winning seven) and three of those were matches they had to travel outside of Gauteng for.

"If it were up to me, I would prefer to play every three or four days. But, it's what happens before and after matchday that's a bit taxing.

"There's travelling involved, even when we play at home, you go and join the camp at the hotel. So, you're barely at home. The times you are at home with family, you try and spend as much time with them but you also need to rest, that is difficult to manage. The games itself are not an issue," shared Coetzee, on Sundowns' Pitchside Podcast.

"The travelling, flying, bus trips and sleeping at hotels, that is the most taxing," added Coetzee in his chat with Sundowns legend, Hlompho Kekana and DJ Naves.
