some coaches need media-handling courses
Being able to handle the media has become one of the important ingredients a player should have. Teams train players so that they do not talk out of turn as that is detrimental to the player as well as to the team. I wonder why the same crash courses are not given to the coaches. Perhaps, it is because teams think that they are grownups who know how to handle themselves. But the truth is, not all of them. They also need to be taught just like these young boys who have just started their careers in football. A coach who is known for slandering other teams and asking favours from referees instead of being known for football tactics and strategies is as bad as a pastor known for abusing members of his church. And the media just love people who are at best controversial and at worst foolish.
