A Real Madrid star has reportedly made a final decision on who he will pledge his international allegiance to between Morocco and Spain following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Afrique Sports, Los Blancos attacker Brahim Diaz is poised to choose his native Spain over the home of his parents, Morocco.
The 24-year-old dazzled in the UEFA Champions League this week, in Real's round of 16 match-up against RB Leipzig on Tuesday, scoring a sublime solo effort to give the record European champions a 1-0 lead going into the second leg on 6 March.
This goal, and his general resurgence in form for Los Merengues since returning from loan at AC Milan, has seen him begin to gain the trust of manager Carlo Ancelotti this season.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup champions, under Luis de la Fuente, are believed to have been monitoring Diaz, and although the man who gave him his one and only call-up to the national team has not called him back up since, it seems the versatile attacker is keen to fight for his place in La Furia Roja.
The Atlas Lions will be looking to reinvigorate their squad following a disappointing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, and their interest in Diaz has been documented for some time, with manager Walid Regragui even explicitly admitting to courting him.

However, while they may have managed to lure big players from the diaspora in the past, such as Hakim Ziyech, it does not look like they will be succeeding on this occasion.
