Thembinkosi Lorch broke his silence and penned an emotional farewell message to Orlando Pirates, after completing his high-profile move to Sundowns.

Lorch completed a deadline-day switch to Sundowns ahead of second round of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, sending shockwaves through SA football.

The 2019 PSL Footballer of the Year was unveiled by Downs on Saturday, with Lorch taking to Instagram to address the move and express gratitude to the necessary parties through a statement.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Lorch Breaks His Silence On Shock Sundowns Move" story:

"The bench is coming to you my son. Soon, you will miss Orlando Pirates. I'm telling you, soon you will blame yourself," says mmnculwane.

"All the best man, I hope you don't follow in Mendieta's foot steps," says khosilannete0.

"Guys, when it comes to football, salaries are not the same. Spain, England, Germany, France and other countries around the world even here in Africa, players are not getting the same amount of salary.

"Football is not a company and industry where you find that employees are being paid the same amount of salary,"  says TT Wa Lekhosi.

"I wish you luck boy, but don't end up like Tso Vilakazi, who is hating soccer for being unable to go back to the Buccaneers, I hope you left well," says Weissel A.

"Welcome to Sundowns boy, you have been enrolled in the top University of South African soccer. Remember, your talent alone is not going to count.

Like Lorch, 'Cheeseboy' left Pirates for Sundowns, going on to win the league with the Tshwane giants. Mokwena mentioned that Rulani Mokwena will know how to get the best out of Nyoso and that he will fit in well at Downs.

With his qualities, Cheeseboy reckons Lorch can maybe fill Zwane's role in the long run at Sundowns.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Exclusive: 'Cheeseboy' Tips Lorch To Fit Into Zwane's Shoes' story:

"What's wrong with Lorch getting a gig at Downs? What makes you so bitter? Tell the truth guys, even if Lorch manages to play two full seasons at Downs, he's down, because I doubt they bought him as a player for the long term.

"Jealousy is jealousy, Lorch will achieve great things at Downs, not many things. You may win 70 trophies but if those trophies are not the league and Champions League, they mean nothing to great players. If Lorch is a great player, he must win leagues always like Mshishi. Welcome home boy and start winning big," says Cutter.

"If Lorch was injury free he was going to be one of the best midfielders after those famous SA legends. For the past two to three seasons, he only managed to play less than ten games per season, and it cannot be enough for a player to show the world his best," says Fair Comments.

"The only reason Lorch is there is to fill his pockets, not to fit into anyone's shoes," says RIQUELME.

"Do you mean Pirates don't have money to fill Lorch's pockets? How big are his pockets? I would understand if you said his bank account," replies afl.

"No Cheeseboy, you have got it wrong, a 30 year old coming to fill the shoes of a consistent 34 year old? I know its just speculation but let me remind you that each player is unique.

"When Zwane joined Sundowns, he was not coming to fill shoes for anybody. But if you are thinking of a player that can play the same role as Zwane, I think Sundowns was long covered for that before Lorch was brought in, remember there is Siphelele Mkhulise, Ntando Nkosi, Siyabonga Mabena, who are much younger than Lorch if you thinking of age as a factor," says Manephilly.
