The South African football fraternity woke up to disturbing news this morning that Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi was hijacked and taken hostage in Thokoza in Ekurhuleni, Gauteng.

The news was first revealed by the Intelligence Bureau of South Africa, the former TS Galaxy man had his grey Volkswagen Tiago that he was driving hijacked last night.

Orlando Pirates' media officer told the Siya Crew that Buthelezi is safe and unharmed, with the club requesting for the player to be given space to recover from the traumatic incident.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Breaking: Pirates' Buthelezi Kidnapping Update"  story:

"It was Pule who was hijacked last year and now is Melusi. Our country has became dangerous, especially when you drive a nice car," says thegreatkidos007.

"Our country is just rubbish, everyday it's rape, murder, hijacking, robberies etc. There's no law. In this country, people are living in fear as criminals have taken over. Thank you father for protecting your son," says Black Mamba 2.

"This matter calls for serious investigation for sure. How come he is hijacked for the second time? Is there a group of dirty friends around him who are taking advantage of his progress in life?

"Is this a random crime or a coincidence that he was at the wrong place at the wrong time? Mzansi is really not a good family-friendly country anymore, yet the old criminal act laws remain with bail given out willy-nilly. So sad to live in this horrific country. Happy to hear Buthelezi is safe!" says khothakhosi.

"Can't believe it man, happy he is fine," says ngcwelendlovu2.

Former Chiefs defender Makete Tsotetsi has given his thoughts on who Amakhosi should sign for next season, with the hope they will get a coach who will get the best out of them.

Tsotetsi has identified three players who make a difference at Naturena; Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo, Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis and Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.

Both Appollis and Nwabali represented Bafana Bafana and the Super Eagles at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, while Bafana international Mayo sits second in the DStv Premiership top goal scorer's list with nine goals.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Ex-Chiefs Player Lists 3 Players Amakhosi Should Sign" story:

"We must be careful of surrendering to pressure. Kaizer Chiefs needs a striker coach. Cavin said we have the best players and I agree with him. Let's focus on actual problems and solve them. Money will not solve our problems.

"Coach did everything he could do but the players disappointed all of us. You can't change the driver and expect the new driver to drive the same car and expect a better outcome.

"Du Preez failed to convert, all three of them actually. Jeff Butler, played with any player and never wasted chances at Chiefs. We need to stop buying and work with what we have. We have best players, I agree 100%" says nkwanas.

"And turn them into cows. It's just frustrating nje playing for Chiefs these days. You're guaranteed trophiless per season," says makausemakause53.

"Before linking Chiefs with any player, check first if the player is a free agent and stop wasting our time," says Saavedra.

"You are talking crap all the time," replies Soccer Fanatic.

"Kaizer Chiefs has no money, responds Saavedra.

"That's true we all know that chips has empty pockets they don't buy players they want free agents," replies Dominate-downs.
