Comments

Mamelodi Sundowns boss Rulani Mokwena had nothing but praise for his players, who extended their unbeaten run to 40 games in the league.

Masandawana moved 12 points clear at the top of the table with a 3-0 victory over AmaZulu at Loftus Versfeld, curtesy of a Lucas Ribeiro Costa hat-trick.

Rulani expressed how much he loves his team and that they have special place in his heart in the post match interview, crediting their patience in the first-half and raising of the tempo in the second stanza.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "40 Games Unbeaten! Rulani Sings Downs Stars' Praises" story:

"If they can reach 49 games unbeaten, they would have reached the same feat that Arsenal did in Premier League when they did that in 2003/2004 season. That will be a milestone of some sort," says user949915.

"Remain humble and focused RuRu and continue the good work. The legacy you are building at Sundowns will take centuries to undo," says makausemakause53.

"As long as the money as by his side he'll keep displaying his arrogance towards every coach and club owners but he must know what goes up must come down, enjoy the ride while it lasts and the money," says userThautha.

"It was never Rulani's decision and vision that Downs will be the best team in Africa but Dr Motsepe, all Rulani is doing is putting this in motion. There are teams who we are told they have been winning cups before Downs came into existence, what happened to the proceeds from those cups, can't blame Rulani for being a coach of a team whose owner is a visionary, blame your teams for sleeping on duty. HJands-off our Rulani," replies sakhilem9.

Sticking with Rulani Mokwena, he's urged the public to give the TS Galaxy boss Sead Ramovic attention after his recent tirade aimed at the young Downs coach.

The 44-year-old German tactician criticised Rulani last week during a press conference, alleging that the Downs coach had some strong words for him over the phone.

Ramovic said this after he took issue with Rulani's reaction to a loss to TS Galaxy back in October in the Carling Knockout Cup, after the Brazilians mentor attributed his side's defeat to not having his Bafana Bafana stars available due to the International Break.

Ramovic suggested he took offence to Rulani's comments, believing that it undermined the effort of his players and staff. Speaking after their win over Usuthu, Rulani says journalists should give Ramovic the attention he's "crying for".

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Rulani: Give Ramovic The Attention He Wants" story:

"Ruru is a very good coach with a lot football intelligence. However, though his IQ is very high, he's lacking EQ a bit. And that's so dangerous when you are a leader, leading people.

"It's the same problem facing Mourinho & Tuchel. They all need to work on their emotional intelligence, otherwise, they'll always keep having issues not relating to their jobs," says NoPain.

"There we go, Sundowns' PR officers are here. The man is not denying anything because he knows what Ramovic said is true, but because Downs are untouchable these days, they just say what they want to anyone. The fact is, the Sundowns coach made serious threats to Ramovic and SAFA and the PSL should intervene," says De Paul.

"I strongly agree, the response is not directed to the allegations still, with sort of undermining elements on the other hand Ramovic could have also handled it maturely by keeping his mouth shut when the other said 'I was left with no choice but to field second best players,'" says tebellosp.

"Sundowns has inflicted chest pains to a lot of people including Ramovic. Looks like he dreams of Sundowns in his sleep. Mudau has denied ever speaking to this guy. So somebody must be telling a lie somehow," says makausemakause53.

"He should be a Chiefs favorite this one. Chiefs like characters like these," says His Majesty Yellow PSL Pitbull.

"Plus, he was the UEFA pro license," replies Shikabala.

"It's Pep and Klopp all over again, the PSL needs this rivalry," says Charles Manyike.

"Galaxy are not Sundowns' rivals. Galaxy has done nothing to be mentioned in the same breathe as Sundowns," replies ndweniandries4.

"Tell them Charlie, Galaxy is beneath us," replies SkyKBY.
