Last week, the Siya crew reported that the 31-year-old was back in South Africa, where he is keeping fit with the Stars of Africa academy.
Mahlangu’s presence in the country prompted talk in local media that an exit could be on the cards for the man from Secunda, after Mahlangu was excluded from Ordabasy’s Turkish training camp, which is in preparation for the upcoming Khazakstan Premier League kick off.
The club took to their official website to shed clarity on the midfielder’s situation with the club.
“We would like to note right away that the South African midfielder of "Ordabasy" May Mahlangu has one more year of contract with the club. But now Turkey, due to the pandemic, does not allow citizens of some countries to enter its territory, unfortunately, South Africa is included in this list.
“In this connection, Mahlangu at the moment cannot join the Shymkent team. The club's management, as well as the player's representatives, do everything possible to ensure that the player arrives at the disposal of the team as soon as possible,” the club wrote.
