South Africa legend Katlego "Killer" Mphela has blamed Kaizer Chiefs' constant changing of coaches for their failure to win trophies in the past decade.
Speaking exclusively to Soccer Laduma, Mphela believes Chiefs have made good signings in recent years but that changing coaches didn't allow these players to settle in properly.

Furthermore, Mphela underlined the importance of the players taking their own responsibility for the performance of the team so that the coaches are not solely to blame.
Other than failing to win a trophy again, and falling out of the pace for a Caf qualification spot, Amakhosi have lost their last two matches, against Stellenbosch FC and Chippa United.
"Yes, that might be the case with players not being clear in their heads but at the end of the day players need to be professional and understand that they are representing a big brand in African football. They need to take responsibility and perform at a high level," Mphela told the Siya crew.
"In the past two seasons the team brought in good players but the supporters never gave them a chance and management didn't protect them enough either, by changing coaches more often. I think they should have given Arthur (Zwane) the support and allow him to build the team because there are no shortcuts in building anything beautiful or successful," 'Killer' added.
Then he went on to discuss the responsibilities of the players.
"The players are good and the most important thing is that they were regarded as star players at their previous clubs because that's all what they had and at Chiefs there's an abundance of talent which can make them to be deemed average.
"The environment is not for every player that comes from other teams. It is very hostile. They are cleaning out everything from the previous team and coach before drilling their new philosophy (again). I normally call this exercise the cleaning of the glass that was used by someone else before using it to drink water.
"It is always easy and advisable to use a clean item compared to using an unclean one. To do that you need to have continuity in teams, particularly the coach, and what Chiefs have done is changing coaches more often and that effects the process of cleaning of the glass to suit the style of the team.
"They also need to increase their behind the scenes and technical staff with knowledgeable individuals in crucial technical departments from the juniors so that there is proper continuity at the club," Mphela concludes.
Out of the Nedbank Cup this weekend, Chiefs next face Richards Bay in PSL action on 21 April, Sunday afternoon, hoping that a win can regain their momentum, as well as their confidence to finish the season strongly.
