A former Kaizer Chiefs player believes it's important for the club not to sign any new players without consultation with the incoming coach.
Amakhosi are expected to appoint a new coach ahead of the 2024/25 season, with interim Cavin Johnson set to return to his role as head of academy.

Former Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi feels it's important that Amakhosi do not rush to secure new players before allowing the new coach to assess the squad and see which areas they need to bolster.
"Build his own team and see which players that are available. He will see if he has to strengthen and look for players. Then he can decide to sign players he can work with. It's important for the new coach who comes in next season to sign his own players and add them to the players who are already there that he still needs," Tsotetsi said to the Siya crew.
"It's so important for a coach to sign his players because he knows that they will suit his style of play. Every coach has his way of wanting to play, so he signs players based on that," Tsotetsi concluded.

It could be a bit of a challenge for Amakhosi if they get a coach who has not worked in the PSL before, because it might take some time for him to get to know the players and who is available for him to sign.
