Footballer-turned-analyst Junior ‘Aghahowa’ Khanye has made a genuine appeal to football fans and the public at large about 2021.
In recent months, Khanye has developed a love/hate relationship with the fans, including those of his former team Kaizer Chiefs, due to some of his comments when analysing matches.
As part of his New Year message, the Daveyton-born former crowd-puller has appealed to fans and the public to approach 2021 with a different mindset after some of the shocking incidents that happened this year.
“I am appealing to people out there to never forget that there is 2021 still coming after everything that we have been through this year because of the Covid-19 and it’s effects. The year hasn’t been great as we have lost many people, including football stars such as Anele Ngcongca and others due to car accidents. There have been too many car accidents and the year has just been bad,” said Khanye, speaking to the Siya crew.
“I am appealing to everyone that we should all approach 2021 with the right attitude and positive energy. Let us all behave during this festive season and let’s please respect each other. Let’s do away with violence and the killings of children. I am appealing to football fans to respect the views and opinions of other people and understand that it’s all about the game. Some of us received death threats this year and such things should stop in 2021 and we must respect each other as human beings and understand each other that we all have ambitions and we have families to feed. Let us please not forget to pray and let us not forget God,” he added.
