In anticipation of this week’s 1369th edition of Soccer Laduma, we preview some of the features included. The latest edition will be available at your nearest outlet on Thursday, 11th April 2024.

NEDBANK CUP Preview

University of Pretoria are the last non-topflight outfit still fighting the good fight but will be up against it facing Mamelodi Sundowns. Stellenbosch FC at home against SuperSport United should be a cracker, while the prospect of seeing one of TS Galaxy and Chippa United in the semi-finals is an interesting one. Can AmaZulu FC pull off what would be considered an upset against defending champions Orlando Pirates? Soccer Laduma brings you this preview...

KAIZER CHIEFS Siya Special

It’s been a topsy-turvy season for Kaizer Chiefs and indications are that the club will undergo another exodus in an effort to improve on their disappointing campaign. Amakhosi are in danger of ending the campaign even worse than they did under Arthur Zwane last season, which shows that there has been absolutely no improvement from the side, despite the fact that they went out into the market to get new players. With the season heading towards the end, Soccer Laduma looks at the major changes Amakhosi are preparing to make.

Steve Komphela Interview

After parting ways with Moroka Swallows, Steve Komphela made a return to Golden Arrows, making a good start after the club had suffered nine consecutive defeats. Komphela’s positive start at Arrows, however, ended in a 7-1 hammering at the hands of Orlando Pirates. But, in this interview with Soccer Laduma, Komphela explains why he was not too emotional about the result and also talks about what he said to his players after the match, while later addressing concern over the treatment of players at Swallows.

International Feature

Lionel Messi joined David Beckham’s Inter Miami in July last year and helped the club to its first ever piece of silverware – the Leagues Cup – just over a month later. The Herons have since experienced astonishing profile growth, shown in the new marketing and sponsorship opportunities taken by the Florida-based outfit and on their social media platforms. More important than that, however, is the impact he’s had on the field alongside other star players such as Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez. How is he playing? And how does his presence at the MLS franchise influence the team’s results? Soccer Laduma tells you all you need to know.

Revolving Column

This week, we hear from former Mamelodi Sundowns player Fabian McCarthy, as he talks about the CAF Champions League match against Young Africans. McCarthy discusses the possibility of Sundowns reaching the FIFA Club World Cup.

Siyagobhoza

In this week’s edition of the popular Siyagobhoza section, there is news on early talks for a new PSL broadcast rights deal, Kaizer Chiefs staying mum on Dillon Sheppard’s future, as well as a Mamelodi Sundowns striker eyeing an overseas move.
