The Catalan giants have announced that the 44-year-old will remain at the club after the Spanish tactician said in January that this would be his final season in charge.

In a press conference on Thursday, it was confirmed that the former Barcelona midfielder will still be at the helm come the 2024/25 campaign.

President Laporta said, according to Barca Centre: "Today it's my pleasure to let you know that Xavi will continue as the coach of the Barça first team. We know that he had expressed that he would leave, but now I have the good news that we have spoken and that he has expressed his joy to continue at the helm of this project. He's very ambitious."

Xavi was appointed as Blaugrana boss in 2021, replacing Dutch manager Ronald Koeman during a difficult time for the club on and off the field.
