The 16-year-old has quickly become a prominent player for the Catalan giants this season, having broken a number of records in his short career to date.
His early success and the fact that he is an alumni of the club's famed academy, La Masia, has led to him already being compared to Barca legend Messi.
The Spain international currently dons the number 27 on his jersey, but while speaking recently to Mundo Deportivo, he revealed that while the No. 10 shirt may currently belong to Ansu Fati, he would not say no to taking over from him if it became available.
"As you said, it is Ansu's No. 10, but if in the end he is not still here, it would be a source of pride. It would be a dream for any child to be Barca's No. 10. Nobody in this world would say no, but it is something that the club must manage," Yamal said.
The winger also expressed his desire to stay at the club for a long time, like Messi and other legends such as Carles Puyol and Andres Iniesta.
"Sure. I hope I can be a Barca legend," he added.
