What's the story?

Retired Rugby star, Tendai Mtawarira and current Springbok flyer, Cheslin Kolbe took time to share their support for Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their CAF Champions League semi-final, second leg.

Masandawana head into the clash at Loftus Versfeld with a one-goal deficit and will need to be at their best to break down a stubborn Esperance defence.

Rugby World Cup winners back Downs

Masandawana host Tunisian giants, Esperance on Friday evening at Loftus Stadium, and need to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Tunis if they are to make the Champions League final for the first time since 2016, when Pitso Mosimane's Sundowns beat Zamalek to lift the coveted crown.

The Brazilians have already enjoyed taste of continental success under Rulani Mokwena this season, winning the inaugural Africa Super League — but it's no secret how badly Downs want to secure their place as Africa's number 1 club by winning their first Champions League in almost 8 years.

Roc Nation clients and Rugby World Cup winners with the Springboks, Tendai "The Beast" Mtawarira and Cheslin Kolbe wished Masandawana the best of luck for tonight's clash against Esperance.

"I just wanted to wish you the very best ahead of your big Champions League semi-final, you've got this, South Africa is behind you, so go give it your best shot," said The Beast, who retired from rugby after the Springboks' 2019 World Cup triumph in Japan.

"I would just like to wish you guys all the best for the upcoming CAF [Champions League] semi-final this weekend, go out and do that jersey proud, do South Africa proud — I'll be supporting and cheering you on all the way in Japan. Sending you lots of positive energy," says the two-time Rugby World Cup winner, who is currently based in Tokyo.
