What's the story?

TS Galaxy veteran striker Bernard Parker paid a visit to the legendary Lucas Masterpieces Moripe at his home in Atteridgeville, Pretoria on Thursday.

Parker was joined by his friends on the visit, including the author of his autobiography, which was handed over to the iconic Lucas Moripe.

Bernard Parker visits Lucas Moripe

After making an incredible recovery for a brutal leg break, Bernard Parker moving normally again and is still hard at work in promoting his autobiography, "From A Shack To Destiny." 

Parker handed over a copy of his book to the legend that is Lucas Moripe, who was one of the country's greatest players during the 70's, where he played for Pretoria Callies.

Along with the book, Parker was seen holding up a blue Pretoria Callies jersey with Moripe's number 10 on the front and wrote this as the caption to his photo dump with the great Lucas Moripe:

"Today we visited our Legend Mr. Lucas Masterpieces Moripe. [It] was a great honour meeting the Legend."

As mentioned by SA History.org, Moripe was hailed by fans as "The God of football" during his time at Pretoria Callies, who he joined back in 1971 and led the team to memorable victories over Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.

He won Player of the Year in 1973 before persistent knee injury ended his career in the 80's. In 2010, after already having a street named after him in Atteridgeville, his former stomping ground The Atteridgeville Super Stadium was renamed after the Callies legend, to acknowledge his contribution to football in both the city and the country as a whole.
