Despite seeing Polokwane City lose 2-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night, Rise and Shine coach Boebie Solomons does not feel his team were outplayed.
"I think we didn't play too badly," said Solomons.
"The first goal was a soft goal in my opinion.
"We allowed (Kingston) Nkhatha to make a run through our defence and we allowed him to make a cross, and on top of that we had two unmarked players in the box.
"The second goal was a deflection.
"All-in-all I think we had about three or four opportunities we could have scored.
"I don't think they outplayed us – here and there, with their quality, they held possession longer than us, but they didn't get into very dangerous positions where you say they should have scored five or six.
"I think our game plan was very well played out, but unfortunately we didn't capitalise when we had a chance."
The result leaves Polokwane tied on points with second from bottom Free State Stars, but Solomons feels, that with three games left to played, his side can still avoid relegation.
"I think we are playing well enough to win games, we are just conceding some silly goals," added the coach.
"The odd mistake is costing us, but hopefully in the last three games we have a bit of luck and if we can score goals then we will be on our way."
